J. Gordon Anderson Contemporary Art

Biography & Contact

J. Gordon Anderson is a fourth generation Floridian, born in the Coral Gables section of Miami, Florida in 1974. He was reared in Baltimore County, MD and still resides in the county. Inspired to pursue art by his mother Diane; and his first cousin once removed, the late Connecticut artist and naturalist Noel K. Edwards, he pursed a B.S. degree in painting at Towson University, where he studied under Stuart Stein and Leonard Koscianski. He graduated from Towson in 1997 and has worked as an artist ever since, showing his work in small galleries and selling it privately to people all over the country. HIs particular interest in cityscapes comes from the many years he lived in Baltimore City, which is a place of excellent architecture and culture. In 2002 he took the M.A. degree from St. Mary’s Seminary & University (School of Theology) and in 2005 took Holy Orders and has served parishes in MD, FL, and VA. He currently serves as rector of Saint Alban’s Anglican Church in Joppa, MD and sees his artistic and priestly vocations as being two aspects of one unique calling to serve God and his fellow human beings.
